England vs Spain at Wembley: The Rematch Two Years in the Making
Saturday night at Wembley. England vs Spain isn't just the fixture of Nations League matchday one — it's the reigning European champions visiting the stadium where they beat England in the Euro 2024 final. If that wasn't enough spice, it's also the first competitive test of England's new era under a full Wembley arch of expectation. Two of the world's three best young players will share a pitch: Jude Bellingham and Lamine Yamal.
How It Shapes Up
Spain arrive as they always do — possession-heavy, Yamal cutting in from the right, Pedri pulling the strings, and a squad deep enough that the champions barely notice absences. England's answer is youth and home fire: Bellingham driving through midfield, Saka direct off the right, Kane finishing the chances both create. Wembley under the lights on a Saturday has settled bigger arguments than this one.
The recent ledger favours Spain — that Euro final stings — but England haven't lost to anyone else in normal time since. Something gives on Saturday.
